What are whiskey stones?

Whiskey stones are cubes of rock, usually cut from soapstone or granite, that you can use to keep your whiskey (or other neat spirits) cold. The main advantage is that while the stone cools your drink, it does not dilute it like an ice cube will. They're easy to use - just pop a set in your freezer for 4 hours before using. The stones are hand-washable. You can dry them and put them back in the freezer and they'll be ready when you are.

In addition to stones, there are also stainless steel products you can use to cool drinks down. These are usually manufactured by encasing a freezing gel in stainless steel. They come in a range of shapes and sizes (skulls, footballs, etc.). The Glacier Rocks Stainless Steel Sphere is large and ideal for whiskey drinkers.
