This twist on the Martini was a favorite of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He served them to Stalin and Churchill at the Tehran Conference in 1943. While Stalin was a huge fan of vodka and pickle juice, he did not like the Dirty Martini. Being an ultra-dry Martini (see Naked Martini) lover, Churchill probably didn't appreciate it either. At least they could agree on something even if was just that they did not like F.D.R.'s cocktail.
- 2 oz. Gin
- 1/2 oz. dry Vernouth
- 1/2 oz. cocktail olive brine
- green cocktail olive
Pour the gin, vermouth, and olive brine into an ice filled mixing glass. Stir a few revolutions and strain into a pre-chilled martini glass. Add the cocktail olive as a garnish.
