Gin and Tonic

Crisp and refreshing - the Gin and Tonic may be the best thing to come out of England since the Magna Carta. You can vary the amounts of the ingredients to create your perfect blend as well. A 1:1 ratio of Gin to Tonic is a great place to start.

  • 2 Oz. Gin (Bombay Dry is a nice example of a London Dry Gin)
  • 2 Oz. Tonic Water
  • 1 Lime Wedge

Fill a chilled Gin and Tonic glass with ice, squeeze the Lime Wedge into the glass, pour in the Gin and the Tonic. Give the drink a stir (garnish with a lime wheel) and enjoy responsibly. Maybe you'd like more or less gin. While the original is fine as it is, thanks to Gin's herby qualities, it is very accepting of vegetables and herbs. You could muddle cucumber (about a half inch - cubed should be sufficient). Rosemary, mint or basil could be welcome additions, as might some celery juice.
